    Description: The particle size, morphology, and stability of Ag-NPs were investigated in the present study. A Q-Switched Nd: YAG pulsed laser (λ = 532 nm, 360 mJ/pulse) was used for ablation of a pure Ag plate for 30 min to prepare Ag-NPs in the organic compound such as ethylene glycol (EG) and biopolymer such as chitosan. The media (EG, chitosan) permitted the making of NPs with well dispersed and average size of Ag-NPs in EG is about 22 nm and in chitosan is about 10 nm in spherical form. Particle size, morphology, and stability of NPs were compared with distilled water as a reference. The stability of the samples was studied by measuring UV-visible absorption spectra of samples after one month. The result indicated that the formation efficiency of NPs in chitosan was higher than other media and NPs in chitosan solution were more stable than other media during one month storage. This method for synthesis of silver NPs could be as a green method due to its environmentally friendly nature.

    Description: We investigate the stationary model of a geometrically thin, magnetized accretion disc, which has a dipole-symmetry magnetic field that is produced by an α−ω dynamo and can emanate winds from the disc’s surfaces. Although self-gravity has an important role in the evolution of astrophysical systems, it has been disregarded in many cases, because the equations become more complicated when the mass distribution of the disc is included in the total gravitational potential. In this paper, we consider the effects of self-gravity on the above-mentioned model. It is shown that in the presence of vertical self-gravity, while the magnetic diffusivity decreases, the magnetic field bends and the inflow speed increases. Also, in the inner parts of the disc, mass flux resulting from the wind has a positive value compared with the non-self-gravitating solution, in which all accreted materials are lost. These results can be used for the discs of active galactic nuclei, in which self-gravity is only important in the vertical direction. However, for other types, such as the discs surrounding young stellar objects, self-gravity can be considered in both vertical and radial directions. Here, our analysis of fully self-gravitating discs has revealed that, in this case, the inflow speed depends on the radius. In the model we study, it is also found that the outflows have no effective contribution to the removal of angular momentum for certain radii r ≥ 6R, as is > 60°. However, the system cannot be stabilized by viscous dissipation.

    Description: Multi-temporal interferometric synthetic aperture radar (MT-InSAR) is a widely used technique for monitoring subtle ground instabilities, with a precision ranging from centimeters to millimeters. Traditional MT-InSAR analysis often employs low-pass temporal filtering to suppress stochastic noise and extract deformation features from measurements. However, these approaches may hinder the detection and estimation of transient slope instabilities triggered by external factors. In this study, we propose a methodology for characterizing transient deformation of reservoir bank slopes under the coupling effects of rainfall and reservoir water level (RWL) changes. Following MT-InSAR analysis, slope kinematics is analyzed using time series decomposition and independent component analysis (ICA) to separate trends from seasonality. Although triggers of slope instability exhibit similar periods of increase and decrease, they are not entirely synchronized. Therefore, the seasonal components of surface deformation along with environmental triggers are analyzed using a wavelet transform to determine the time-lag between them. This helps define an effective priori search windows for constraining transient behaviors in landslide kinematics. A constrained least-squares optimization is finally applied to extract step-like kinematics features. Our methodology’s effectiveness is evaluated using a dataset comprising 102 TerraSAR-X (TSX) images in High-resolution Spotlight (HS) mode, 197 Sentinel-1 images, 10 ALOS-1 and 12 ALOS-2 Stripmap images, collected from 2006 to 2022 across Badong County, located along the Yangtze River. After the successful validation against in-situ measurements and comparison with conventional post-processing strategies, we apply our method to generate a map of hazardous sliding areas and evaluate the regional-scale slope instability of slow-moving landslides across Badong County in the Three Gorges Area (TGA).

    Description: We present topographic slope positions of seismic stations within four independent networks (IGUT, IIEES, GSI, and BHRC) in Iran through integrated use of digital elevation models and GIS. Since topographic amplification factor (TAF) due to ground surface irregularity could be one of the reasons of earthquake wave amplification and unexpected damage of structures located on the top of ridges in many previous studies, the ridge stations in the study area are recognized using topographic position index (TPI) as a spatial-based scale-dependent approach that helps in classification of topographic positions. We also present the correlation between local topographic positions and Vs30 along with Voronoi tiles of two networks (IGUT and IIEES). The obtained results can be profitably used in seismology to establish homogeneous subnetworks based on Voronoi tiles with precise feedback and in the formulation of new ground motion prediction equations with respect to topographic position and topographic amplification factor.

    Description: This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Alphamune, a mixed prebiotic composed of mannan-oligosaccharide and β-glucans, on the growth performance, digestibility and enzyme activity of rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss. A basal diet was formulated using common feed ingredients supplemented with Alphamune at 0, 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 g.kg-1 leading to five experimental diets. Obtained results showed that inclusion of dietary Alphamune significantly increased the final weight and weight gain (p〈0.01) of rainbow trout compared to the control group. Feed conversion ratio was also improved after prebiotic administration in comparison with the control group (p〈0.05). However, Alphamune supplementation did not change specific growth rate (p〉0.05). Also apparent digestibility coefficient (ADC) was not affected by dietary addition of the prebiotic (p〉0.05). Our results indicated that amlayse and lipase activities were not significantly influenced by administration of different doses of Alphamune. The result also showed that trypsin activity was gradually increased with increasing of the probiotic level (p〉0.05). In conclusion, inclusion of the prebiotic Alphamune can improve the nutrient efficiency and growth performance of rainbow trout confirming the positive effect of a mixture of prebiotics on fish.
