Description / Table of Contents: Current situation of water pollution in China -- Challenges and opportunities to treat water pollution -- Facing water pollution under rapid changing environment: China’s experiences -- Conclusion.
Abstract: This book mainly provides the current status of water pollution faced by China under rapid changing environment and the actions that have been taken for prevention and treatment of water pollution. It points out that the water pollution situation is severe. Facing water pollution, China’s experiences include several aspects on source control and pollution interception, internal nutrient removal of sediment, ecological restoration, and water transfer policy. There exists both the opportunity and challenge for the prevention and control of water pollution in China. The book contains numerous charts and diagrams which further illustrating China’s paths to clean water.

Description / Table of Contents: Comparison between physical and virtual water transfer -- Pattern of physical and virtual water flows: the impact to water quantity stress among China’s provinces -- Physical water transfer and its impact on water quality: case of Yangtze River Diversions -- Water transfer to achieve environmental issues: waterfront body -- Case of physical water transfer from Yangtze River: different routes -- Virtual water transfer within China: case of Shanghai.
Abstract: This book presents a selected literature review and case studies for both physical and virtual water transfer. It offers an overview to showcase the interprovincial physical and virtual water transfer within China, and then demonstrates the effects of both approaches in dealing with regional water scarcity; the three cases presented in the Yangtze River Basin demonstrate the role of physical water transfer in improving water quality and restoring water ecosystems; while a Shanghai case highlights the impact of Shanghai’s virtual water import on water quantity and quality stress to other regions. This book promotes systematic approaches combining both virtual and physical water transfer solutions to deal with water quantity and quality issues. The book is intended for senior undergraduates, graduate students, lecturers and researchers in water management.

Notes: EIS is used in this paper to study the effects of anodic oxidation parameters on the film’sability, and multi-layer equivalent circuits are proposed. The oxidation time has great effect onporous layer, the porous layer’s impedance increases as the anodic oxidation time prolong; anodiccurrent density has effect on both barrier layer and porous layer, higher current density gets higherimpedance values in both barrier layer and porous layer; anodic oxidation temperature has greateffect on barrier layer, when the temperature decreases, the barrier layer’s impedance increases

Notes: The electrochemical behaviors of anodized and sealed aluminum alloys in NaCl solutionwere studied by potentiodynamic polarization, the open-circuit-potential and EIS. The results showthat anodic oxidization of aluminum increases its corrosion resistance greatly. Different sealingmethods have different influences on corrosion behavior of the anodized alloys in NaCl solution;corrosion resistance increases in the order: no sealing 〈 water sealing 〈 dichromate sealing 〈 nickelfluoride sealing. The modulus of the porous film sealed by dichromate solution increases with theimmersion time in NaCl solution, which is similar to the self-sealing effect of unsealed anodicfilms

Notes: Formation of clusters with high corrosion resistance on anodic films of Aluminum by Niions implantation was studied. Ni ions were implanted in anodic films of 1070 aluminum at anenergy of 40 keV with dose of 5.0×1017 ions/cm2. XPS analysis reveals that Ni is present in thestates of metallic Ni and NiO on the surface of the anodic film. Electrochemical results show thatanodic films with Ni ions implantation provide relatively higher corrosion resistance in NaClsolution. The anti-corrosion clusters on the surface of anodic films should be the main reason forbetter corrosion resistance of the implanted samples

Notes: New experiment systems that can offer electromechanical and electromagneticcoupling loads were established. Measurement skills and technologies under couplingloads have been developed. The experimental difficulties and technical problems, such as insulation, discharge, compressive testing of brittle ferroelectrics and so on,were well resolved. The constitutive experiments of piezo/ferroelectrics orferromagnetic materials were carried out. Moiré Interferometry was applied to themeasurement of transformation of the crack tip in ferroelectric ceramics undercoupling loads. The deformation concentration near the internal electrode tip causedby non-uniform electric field was investigated by means of Digital SpeckleCorrelation Method (DSCM). With an aim to accomplish both measurements ofconstitutive response of the magnetostrictive materials and the fracture experimentsof general soft ferromagnetic materials, a magnetomechanical-coupling testing setupwas established, which is controlled by an industrial PC. The software wasprogrammed to monitor the testing process and to deal with the acquired data. Thecharacteristic curves of ferromagnetic materials, such as TbxDy1-xFe2 alloys, weremeasured, including the hysteresis loops, the magnetostriction curve and stress-straincurve

Notes: 14,20-Bis-epi-1α,25-dihydroxy-19-norvitamin D3 and side chain analogues thereof have been synthesised via the 14,20-bis-epi-Inhoffen-Lythgoe diol 9. The synthesis of this precursor was performed via degradation of vitamin D2 and by total synthesis starting from Hajos-Wiechert ketone 24.

Notes: Abstract A series of hexaborides La1−xEuxB6 (x=0.0–1.0) were synthesized under a pressure of 3.5 GPa and at a temperature of 1600○C using La2O3, Eu2O3 and amorphous boron as the starting materials. The products were characterized by X‐ray Diffraction (XRD) and Mössbauer spectroscopy. XRD data analysis shows that all samples crystallize in a cubic CsCl‐type structure, and the cell volume increases with x. Room temperature 151Eu Mössbauer measurements reveal that Eu ions in all samples are in the divalent state, except for the x=1.0 sample where a small amount of Eu3+ ions was detected. The quadrupole splitting of the Eu2+ ions is positive. Eu ions were reduced from trivalent to divalent during the high‐pressure and ‐temperature processes. The isomer shifts of the Eu2+ ions are all smaller than −12.5 mm/s, suggesting that there is no valence fluctuation in the samples. The hexaborides doped by divalent Eu are not metallic.

Notes: Abstract The problem of periodic solutions of nonlinear autonomous systems with many degrees of freedom is considered. This is made possible by the development of a modified version of the KBM method[1]. The method can be used to generate limit cycle phase portrait, amplitude, period and to indicate stability of the limit cycle.

Notes: Abstract The decentralized stabilization conditions for large-scale linear interconnection systems with time-varying delays were established by using some different decomposition cases of interconnection matrices, and a method for designing the decentralized local memoryless state feedback controllers was proposed. All of the considered delays are continuous function, and satisfy some conditions.
