YG8 cemented carbide and A3 steel were jointed by induction brazing using filler alloysof CuZnMn and CuZnMnCo respectively. Microstructure of the joints was analyzed by means ofSEM. Shear strength of the brazing joint was measured. The results indicated that the bond strengthof the joints which were brazed using the two kinds of filler alloys was all above 200MPa, and allthe fractures took place in the cemented carbide near the interface, indicating that there was a largeresidual stress near the interface. In order to reduce residual stress, the joints were heat treated afterbrazing. The bond strength of the joint was increased obviously after these treatments. At the sametime, the brazing joints were all fractured at the interface between cemented carbide and filler alloy
