Description: Cell-surface receptors frequently use scaffold proteins to recruit cytoplasmic targets, but the rationale for this is uncertain. Activated receptor tyrosine kinases, for example, engage scaffolds such as Shc1 that contain phosphotyrosine (pTyr)-binding (PTB) domains. Using quantitative mass spectrometry, here we show that mammalian Shc1 responds to epidermal growth factor (EGF) stimulation through multiple waves of distinct phosphorylation events and protein interactions. After stimulation, Shc1 rapidly binds a group of proteins that activate pro-mitogenic or survival pathways dependent on recruitment of the Grb2 adaptor to Shc1 pTyr sites. Akt-mediated feedback phosphorylation of Shc1 Ser 29 then recruits the Ptpn12 tyrosine phosphatase. This is followed by a sub-network of proteins involved in cytoskeletal reorganization, trafficking and signal termination that binds Shc1 with delayed kinetics, largely through the SgK269 pseudokinase/adaptor protein. Ptpn12 acts as a switch to convert Shc1 from pTyr/Grb2-based signalling to SgK269-mediated pathways that regulate cell invasion and morphogenesis. The Shc1 scaffold therefore directs the temporal flow of signalling information after EGF stimulation.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Notes: 〈/span〉Zheng, Yong -- Zhang, Cunjie -- Croucher, David R -- Soliman, Mohamed A -- St-Denis, Nicole -- Pasculescu, Adrian -- Taylor, Lorne -- Tate, Stephen A -- Hardy, W Rod -- Colwill, Karen -- Dai, Anna Yue -- Bagshaw, Rick -- Dennis, James W -- Gingras, Anne-Claude -- Daly, Roger J -- Pawson, Tony -- MOP-13466-6849/Canadian Institutes of Health Research/Canada -- England -- Nature. 2013 Jul 11;499(7457):166-71. doi: 10.1038/nature12308.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Author address: 〈/span〉Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute, Mount Sinai Hospital, 600 University Avenue, Toronto M5G 1X5, Canada.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Record origin:〈/span〉 〈a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23846654" target="_blank"〉PubMed〈/a〉

Notes: Abstract Poly(4,4′-N,N-diiminosulphoxide diaminophenyl ether) was prepared by Michael addition of 4,4′-disulphinyl diphenyl ether with 4,4′-diaminodiphenyl ether at 150 °C. The thermal and electrical behaviours of the polymer have been studied. The polymer is found to have increased conductivity possibly due to the participation of lone pair of electrons on nitrogen and sulphur atoms with a bond of the macrochain.

Notes: Summary Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) films doped with 1–7 wt.% FeCl3 were prepared by casting method, A computer aided model was suggested for the mechanism of coursening stage of the observed spinodal phase seperation. The differential scanning calorimetry results confirmed the presence of phase separation in the studied samples. Arrhenius plots of the temperature dependence of the d.c. electrical resistivity revealed different slopes for the glassy and polymeric states. A temperature independent paramagnetic Pauli susceptibility (X) was obtained. The dependence of X on the dopant content was interpreted on the basis of nonuniform doping models.

Notes: Summary The ac conductivity of Poly(4,4′-N,N-diiminosulphoxide diaminophenyl ether) was measured at the temperature range 300–355 K as a function of frequency (range 10 Hz to 100 KHz). The activation energy at each frequency was calculated using the Arrhenius relation. A mathematical formula was suggested to explain the dependence of the activation energy on the applied frequency. It was found that there is a good consistent between the experimental and the calculated value.

Notes: Abstract The present work is concerned mainly with the study of two kinds of stratifiable pairs of line complexes embedded in an elliptic spaceS 3 as a continuation of [1] and [6], For both kinds, examples and some geometrical properties are given. Our study is carried out using Cartan's method of moving frames ([3], [8]).

Notes: Abstract This article is devoted to the investigation and the construction of the Klein correspondence of line congruences referred to a specialized moving frame in a 3-dimensional elliptic spaceS 3 to the hyperquadricP 4 of the Klein 5-dimensional elliptic spaceS 5. The Klein correspondence is given and characterized by Theorems 1, 2. The methods adapted here are based on Cartan's differential calculus [1], [6].

Notes: Abstract A new necessary condition for optimality of nonsingular control problems with time delay is developed. This condition accounts for the interaction of the different delays in the control vector. A necessary condition for optimality of singular control problems with time delay is also obtained as a corollary of the new condition.
