Summary Using biomathematical methods, a classification scheme for red deer antlers was developed from representative data collected. This system will aid in predicting individual antler development in order to objectify management and the selection of deer hunted. The classification scheme can be used as a graphic picture or as an electronic data processing program. In addition to manual data input, the automatic classification system permits the estimation by regression analysis of such criteria as age and international points from the quantitative characteristics of cast off antlers.
