Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
As a functional vinyl monomer containing the 10-isoalloxazinyl (2,4-dioxo-3H,10H-benzo[h]pteridin-10-yl) residue, 10-(2′-methacryloyloxyethyl)-3H,10H-benzo[h]pteridine-2,4-dione (2) was prepared by reacting 10-(2′-hydroxyethyl)-3 H,10H-benzo[h]pteridine-2,4-dione (1) with methacryloyl chloride in hexamethyl phosphoric acid triamide solution. Polymerization and copolymerization of the monomer were carried out by 2,2′-azoisobutyronitrile. Alternatively, vinyl-type polymers containing the isoalloxazine system (3) were also prepared by a polymer-analogous reaction. Dehydrogenation reaction of methylmandelate was studied with a copolymer in dimethylformamide solution.
