    Description / Table of Contents: Silylenes as Ligands in Platin ComplexesMonomeric compounds of divalent silicon (SiX2, silylenes), characterised by extremely short life times, may be stabilized as ligands in co-ordination compounds. Silylene metal complexes can be synthesized if one starts with compounds containing metal-silicon bonds. Thus, partial dehalogenation of [(C6H5)3P]2Pt(SiX3)2 ( X=Cl, Br) leads to [(C6H5)3P]2Pt(SiX2)2. The silylene character of these compounds is supported by chemical reactions and i. r. data.
    Notes: Monomere Verbindungen des zweiwertigen Siliciums (SiX2, Silylene), gekennzeichnet durch extrem kurze Lebensdauer, lassen sich als Liganden in Koordinationsverbindungen stabilisieren. Die Synthese von Silylen-Metallkomplexen gelingt, wenn man von Verbindungen ausgeht, die bereits Metall-Silicium-Bindungen enthalten. Die partielle Enthalogenierung von [(C6H5)3P]2Pt(SiX3)2 (X = Cl, Br) führt zu [(C6H5)3P]2Pt(SiX2)2. Der Silylencharakter wird anhand chemischer Reaktionen und IR-Daten diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Silylene-Metal Complexes, IIPentacarbonyl(diiodosilylene)tungsten(0)U.v. irradiation of a solution of W(CO)6 and Si2J6 in n-pentane leads to the dimeric pentacarbonyl(diiodosilylene)tungsten(0), [(CO)5WSiJ2]2. The spectra are in a good agreement with the proposed structure where the iodine atoms serve as bridging ligands between the Si atoms. Tetrahydrofuran opens the halogen bridges and is coordinated to the Si atoms.
    Notes: UV-Bestrahlung einer Lösung von W(CO)6 und Si2J6 in n-Pentan führt zu dem dimeren Dijodsilylen-pentacarbonyl-wolfram(0), [(CO)5WSiJ2]2. Auf Grund der Spektren wird eine Struktur vorgeschlagen, in der Jodatome als Brückenliganden zwischen den Si-Atomen dienen. Tetrahydrofuran löst diese Halogenbrücken und wird an die Si-Atome koordiniert.

    Description / Table of Contents: The Crystal and Molecular Structure of C7H7RuC7H9 - (1-5-ν- Cycloheptadienyl)(1-5-ν-cyclohepatrienyl)ruthenium(II)The structure of the title compound 5 has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallizes in the space group P21/n, a = 644.2 ± 0.1 pm, b = 01775.8 ± 0.2 pm., c = 989.9 ± 0.1 pm, β = 97.72 ± 0.02°, Z = 4 (R = 0.035). The ruthenium atom is coordinated by a cyclohephtadienyl and cycloheptatrienyl ligand, both functioning as five electron ligands. One double bond of the cycloheptarienyl ligand does not interact with the central atom.
    Notes: Mittels Röntgenanalyse wurde die Struktur der Titelverbindung 5 bestimmt. Der Komplex kristallisiert in der Raumgruppe p21/n, a = 644 ±0.1pm, b = 1775.8 ± 0.2pm, c = 989 ± 0.1pm, β = 97.72 ± 0.02°, Z = 4 (R + 0.035). Das Ruthenium ist im Komplex jeweils von einem Cycloheptadienyl- und Cycloheptarienylliganden koordiniert. Beide fungieren als 5-Elektronenliganden, wobei im Cycloheptarienylligand eine Doppelbindung nicht in Wechselwirkung mit dem Zentralatom ist.

    Description / Table of Contents: The Complex Chemistry of Lower Sulfur Oxides, II. Sulfur Monoxide and Disulfur Dioxide as Complex LigandsThe sulfur oxides SO and S2O2, unstable under normal conditions, can act as complex ligands in [{C6H5)2PCH2CH2P(C6H5)2}2Ir(SO)2]Cl. The synthesis is achieved by oxidation of cis-[{(C6H5)2PCH2CH2P(C6H5)2}2Ir(S2)]Cl with sodium periodate. The complex forms two modifications, recognizable from the number of the v(SO) frequences in the i.r. spectrum. One of the modifications, containing disulfur dioxide as a ligand, was investigated by an X-ray structure analysis. trans Position of two single SO groups is supposed in the other modification. From this compound the SO molecules can be eliminated by (C6H5)3P as (C6H5)3P=O and (C6H5)3P=S with formation of [{(C6H5)2PCH2CH2P(C6H5)2}2Ir]Cl.
    Notes: Die unter Normalbedingungen instabilen Schwefeloxide SO und S2O2 können in [{C6H5)2PCH2CH2P(C6H5)2}2Ir(SO)2]Cl als Komplexliganden auftreten. Die Synthese erfolgt durch Oxidation von cis-[{(C6H5)2PCH2CH2P(C6H5)2}2Ir(S2)]Cl mit Natriumperjodat. Der Komplex bildet zwei Modifikationen, erkennbar an der Zahl der v(SO)-Schwingungen im IR-Spektrum. Von einer Modifikation, die das Dischwefeldioxid als Liganden enthält, wurde eine Röntgenstrukturanalyse durchgeführt. In der anderen Modifikation wird trans-Stellung zweier SO-Gruppen vermutet. Aus dieser Verbindung lassen sich die SO-Moleküle mittels (C6H5)3P als (C6H5)3P=O und (C6H5)3P=S unter Bildung von [{(C6H5)2PCH2CH2P(C6H5)2}2Ir]Cl entfernen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis and Properties of 1,3,2-Diazaborolium Salts and Δ4-1,3,2-DiazaborolinesThe 1,3,2-diazaborolium salts 2 are formed in good yields from α,β-diimines 1 and haloboranes RBX2. 2a-g are investigated by IR, 1H-, 11B-, and partially 13C NMR spectroscopy. Though the reduction of the diazaborolium salts to the Δ4-1,3,2-diazaborolines 4 by sodium amalgam is successful, most of the diazaborolines can be identified only spectroscopically as they decompose quickly.
    Notes: Die 1,3,2-Diazaborolium-Salze 2 bilden sich in guten Ausbeuten aus α,β-Diiminen 1 und Halogenboranen RBX2. 2a-g wurden IR-, 1H-, 11B- und teilweise auch 13C-NMR-spektroskopisch untersucht. Obwohl die Reduktion der Diazaborolium-Salze zu den Δ4-1,3,2-Diazaborolinen 4 mittels Natriumamalgam in allen Fällen gelingt, können die meisten Diazaboroline nur spektroskopisch identifiziert werden, da sie sich schnell zersetzen.
