Description / Table of Contents: Donor-Acceptor Complexes [SnCl4(Se4N2)2] and [TiCl4(Se4N2)]The donor-acceptor complexes [SnCl4(Se4N2)2] and [TiCl4(Se4N2)] have been prepared by the reactions of Se4N2 with SnCl4 and TiCl4, respectively, in CH2Cl2 suspensions, forming red-brown, moisture sensitive crystal powders. The complexes are characterized by i. r. spectroscopy, the tin compound additionally by 119Sn Mössbauer spectroscopy. According to the spectra, in the tin complex both Se4N2 molecules are bonded with one of the nitrogen atoms at the tin atom in transposition (symmetry Ci), whereas in the titanium complex we assume both nitrogen atoms to be bonded in a chelating fashion at the titanium atom.
Notes: Die Donorakzeptorkomplexe [SnCl4(Se4N2)2] und [TiCl4(Se4N2)] werden aus den Komponenten Se4N2 und SnCl4 bzw. TiCl4 in CH2Cl2-Suspensionen in Form rotbrauner, feuchtigkeitsempfindlicher Kristallpulver hergestellt.

Notes: The Crystal Structures of {Li3(12-crown-4)2[HC(CN)2]3}, {Na(15-crown-5)[HC(CN)2]}, and {NaN(nBu)4[HC(CN)2]2 · THF}The preparation and the crystal structures of the title compounds 1 - 3 are described. 1 forms a polymeric chain structure, in which one of the lithium ions is linked by Li…NCC(H)CN… bridges. The remaining lithium ions form (12-crown-4)Li[NCC(H)CN] units, which are coordinated by one of the nitrogen atoms of the dicyanomethanide ions with the lithium ions of the chain. 2 forms an ion pair, in which the sodium ion is coordinated by the five oxygen atoms of the crown ether molecule and by one nitrogen atom of the dicyanomethanide ion. 3 has a threedimensional network, in which the sodium ions are coordinated in a distorted tetrahedral manner by the nitrogen atoms of the dicyanomethanide ions. In the cavities of the network the tetrabutylammonium ions and the THF molecules are found.

The Crystal Structure of VCl3(N-t-Bu)The imido complexes of vanadium VCl3(NR) with R = Cl, Br, I react with NaF in acetonitrile in the presence of 15-crown-5 forming the complexes [Na-15-crown-5][V(NR)FCl3(CH3CN)], with R = t-Bu [Na-15-crown-5]2[V(N-t-Bu)FCl3]2, and with R = SiMe3 the nitrido complex [Na-15-crown-5][VNCl3] by cleavage of FSiMe3. Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis and Crystal Structures of the Polyellurido Complexes [K(15-Crown-5)2]2[MTe7] with M = Zn and HgThe title compounds were obtained in the presence of 15-crown 5 from solutions of zinc and mercury acetate, respectively, in DMF by addition of a solution of K2Te3 in DMF at 0°C (M = Zn) and -50°C (M = Hg). They form black crystal needles with metallic luster. Their crystal structures were determined by X-ray diffraction. The structures of [K(15-crown-5)2]2ZnTe7 and [K(15-crown-5)2]2HgTe7 show two-dimensional disorder as evidence by diffuse scattering. The averaged structures that were determined with the Bragg reflexions correspond to space group Pbcn and have very similar lattice parameters. Nevertheless, the structures differ. [HgTe7]2- ions consist of two condensed five membered rings. They are arranged to form strands in the c direction; within of one strand the ions have a definite orientation, but in different strands two different orientations occur randomly. A [ZnTe7]2- ion can be thought of consisting of a Zn2+ ion, a Te42- ion bonded in a chelate manner and a Te32- ion bonded with one terminal Te atom to the Zn2+. The [ZnTe7]2- ions are associated to strands in the c direction with two different strand orientations occuring randomly.
