Notes:
Ion temperature and rotation speed profiles will be measured spectroscopically on DIII-D using charge-exchange-induced excitation of spectral lines. Compared to the spectroscopic system used on Doublet III, the DIII-D system will have improved spatial and temporal resolution, reduced instrumental contribution to line broadening, and the capability to measure both toroidal and poloidal rotation.
