Notes: Abstract We start from the classical Hamiltonian constraint of general relativity to obtain the Einstein–Hamiltonian–Jacobi equation. We obtain a time parameter prescription demanding that geometry itself determines the time, not the matter field, such that the time so defined being equivalent to the time that enters into the Schrödinger equation. Using a semiclassical approximation we obtain an equation for quantum gravity in Schrödinger form containing time. We restrict ourselves to a minisuperspace description. Unlike matter field equation our equation is equivalent to the Wheeler–DeWitt equation in the sense that our solutions reproduce also the wavefunction of the Wheeler–DeWitt equation provided one evaluates the normalization constant according to the wormhole dominance proposal recently proposed by us.

Notes: Abstract Let X be a Riemann surface equipped with a projective structure. Let $$\mathcal{L}$$ be a square-root of the holomorphic cotangent bundle K X . Consider the symplectic form on the complement of the zero section of $$\mathcal{L}$$ obtained by pulling back the symplectic form on K X using the map ν ↦ ν⊗2. We show that this symplectic form admits a natural quantization. This quantization also gives a quantization of the complement of the zero section in K X equipped with the natural symplectic form.

Notes: Abstract. Largeness of the core is sufficient for stability of the core. In general the necessity is not known. In this paper we answer affirmatively the necessity for symmetric games. We also prove its equivalence to n specified vectors being imputations and also to the convexity of the lower boundary of the set of all acceptable pay-off vectors of the game. In this paper we establish the equivalence of a condition given by Shapley to the newly evolved condition, thereby give an alternate proof to Shapley’s condition.

Notes: The polymerization of N-vinylcarbazole (NVC) initiated by AsCl3 in benzene and nitrobenzene solvents was studied at 33°C. Rp is proportional to the first power of the initiator concentration. Rp varies in a first-order manner with NVC concentration up to a certain optimum concentration of the latter, after which it falls and ultimately levels off. The rate and the molecular weight are depressed by the addition of various amines, preformed poly-NVC, and water. HCl does not have any cocatalytic effect on the system. Rate and the molecular weight are increased in nitrobenzene. The degree of polymerization stays independent of the initiator and NVC concentration and also of increasing conversion. These results suggest a conventional cationic mechanism, and overrule the possibility of a cation radical initiation. A suitable kinetic scheme has been proposed in conformity with the findings.

Notes: A few redox systems containing thiourea as reductant have been found to be quite effective in initiating vinyl polymerization in aqueous media and polymers obtained in the process have all been found to contain amino endgroups to various extents by the application of dye techniques. Quite a few oxidants have so far been utilized for this purpose; among them are ferric chloride (Fe3+), ethylene dibiguanide complex salts of tripositive silver (Ag3+), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), persulfate (S2O82-), bromate (BrO3-) + hydrochloric acid (HCl). In case of oxidants Fe3+ and Ag3+, amino endgroups are mainly incorporated in polymers; but in case of oxidants H2O2 and S2O82-, fragments of oxidants are also incorporated as hydroxyl and sulfate endgroups. BrO3-, however, forms a very efficient redox-initiating system with thiourea, as is evidenced by its capability of polymerizing even hydroquinone-stabilized water-soluble vinyl monomers at very low temperature (∼0°C.) and at a quite rapid rate. Besides amino endgroups, sulfonate endgroups have also been detected in polymers in this case, and the relative extents of these two types of endgroups depend generally on the acid concentration of the system. Evidences so far collected indicate the generation of S—C(=NH)NH2 radicals in the system by oxidation of isothiourea, HS—C(=NH)NH2, and these are incorporated in polymers as endgroups. Sulfonate endgroups may be generated by oxidation of these amino-bearing endgroups. Suitable initiation mechanisms have been suggested in each case.
