Notes: [Auszug] Gradients of signalling and transcription factors govern many aspects of embryogenesis, highlighting the need for spatiotemporal control of regulatory protein levels. MicroRNAs are phylogenetically conserved small RNAs that regulate the translation of target messenger RNAs, providing a mechanism ...

Notes: China pays great attentions to the development of titanium alloys and their basic theory because of their excellent properties. New titanium alloys and their new basic theories developed in China in recent five years were reviewed, for example, high temperature Ti alloys, burn resistant titanium alloys, high strength and middle strength titanium alloys and so on. The developing directions in the next 5 to 10 years were forecast

Notes: Superplastic forming provides a good way for Ti alloys which are usually difficult tobe deformed. Ti75 alloy with a nominal composition of Ti-3Al-2Mo-2Zr is a newly developed corrosion resistant alloy, with a middle strength and high toughness. In the present paper, superplastic behavior of the alloy was investigated, the microstructural evolution in superplastic deformation was observed and the superplastic deformation mechanisms were analyzed. The results showed that the strain rate sensitivity, m, of the Ti75 alloy was larger than 0.3 and the strain was over 2.0 without surface cracking at 800ºC and 5×10-4s-1 in compressive testing.During the first stage of superplastic deformation, a phase grains became equiaxed, fine and homogeneous due to the recrystallization in a phase and diffusion in b phase. Newly formed equiaxed a grains then could slide and rotate, exhibiting superplastic features. The stress concentration caused by grain sliding of a grains could be released by slip and diffusion in b phase between the a phase grains, which acted as accommodation mechanisms

Notes: Surface and depth morphology evodslutions of short crack propagation of 1Cr18Ni9Tiweld metal are investigated. In accordance with the previous effective short fatigue crack (ESFC)criterion, attention is paid on the formation zone of the dominant ESFC (DESFC), which resultedfinally in the specimen failure, in micro-structural short crack (MSC) regime and then, the tip zone(s)ahead of the DESFC in physical short crack (PSC) regime. Results show that in MSC regime thesurface ESFCs were imitated from the distributed randomly delta ferrite bounds separated fromaustenite matrix. The initiated ESFCs on surface propagated perpendicularly to loading axle. But indepth direction, the initiated ESFCs grew first similarly to the surface behaviour but lately, tended tobe perpendicularly to the formation direction of the material columnar grain structure. When sizes ofsome longer ESFCs reached around the material maximum barrier size, coalescence occurred to forma true DESFC. In PSC regime the surface DESFC grew almost perpendicularly to loading axle. But indepth direction, it grew first perpendicularly to the formation direction of the columnar grain structureand then, tended to having 45 degree angle to the loading axle. Obviously, the evolutions werestrongly affected by interactions between the load and the microstructures, especially, the columnargrain structure

Notes: Orthorhombic boron nitride (o-BN) films with various thickness (150, 220 and 300nm etc.) areprepared on Si(100) substrate by radio frequency plasma enhanced pulsed (Nd:YAG) laser deposition(RF-PEPLD) in Ar-N2 gas system. The films are characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopyand atomic force microscopic. The field emission characteristics of the BN thin films are measured in anultrahigh vacuum system. A threshold electric field of 8V /6m and the highest emission current density of157.5mA/cm2 at an electric field of 20V/6m are obtained for the 150nm-thick BN film and a thresholdelectric field of 18V / 6m and the highest emission current density of 332.9mA/cm2 at an electric field of52 V/6m are obtained for the 220nm-thick BN film. The results show that the threshold electric fieldincreases with increasing thickness of the films, while the withstand voltage characteristic of the BN filmsalso increases with increasing thickness of the films. The Fowler-Nordheim plots show that electronsemitted from BN to vacuum by tunneling through the potential barrier at the surface of BN thin films

Notes: Orthorhombic boron nitride film is prepared on Si(100) substrate by radio frequency plasmaenhanced pulse (Nd:YAG) laser deposition (RF-PEPLD) in Ar-N2 gas system, assisted with substratepulse negative bias -150v, substrate temperature of 500ºC and deposition time of 30 minutes. The phasecompositions of the film are characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy,glancing-angle X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The results show that high quality orthorhombic boron nitride film has been prepared. A layer structuregrowth mechanism of orthorhombic boron nitride phase upon RF-PEPLD is discussed in this paper. Athin layer h-BN [101] is deposited before depositing o-BN and h-BN mixed phase, then o-BN percentagecomposition of the BN film becomes creasing

Notes: Based on experiments, micro-mechanics and finite element theory, nanocomposite ceramics issimplified as representative volume cell in the paper, and in order to study the interaction of the particles, each cell concludes two nano-ceramic particles. We use ANSYS program to construct the cell model andsimulate the stress field. The stress distribution and the material properties are obtained. The results showthat the stress is uneven in the cell and the elements near the nano-ceramic particle with high stiffness willdamage first. Finely, the stress change and damage evolution route are simulated by using the elementbirth and death technology. The computational results are accordance with experiments and theories

Notes: This paper investigates application of slow strain rate tensile (SSRT) testing as alaboratory method to characterize stress corrosion cracking (SCC) susceptibility of type 40Cr steelin the acidic chloride solution. SSRT testing was carried out at room temperature in acidic chloridesolution and seawater at different strain rates (3.82×10-7 to 1.41×10-6 s-1),respectively. The resultsshow that the type 40Cr steel is susceptible to stress corrosion cracking in a certain strain rates(around 1.41×10-6 s-1) in the acidic chloride solution. In tests performed at this strain rate (1.41×10-6s-1), while the specimens are not susceptible to SCC in seawater. Typical intergranular attack is seenon the fracture surface of the former that had failed due to SCC, and the latter had underwentconsiderable necking before fracture, also represented by high reduction of area (RoA) andfractographic feature of dimples consistent with ductile failure. Additionally, the results areconsistent with the data of electrochemical noise (EN) that is generated of type 40Cr steel exposedto the acidic chloride solution and seawater. This study also supports SSRT and EN technique as aneffective testing technique for SCC studies

Notes: Considering the difference between specimens and RD2 axle of C64A freight car, theextrapolated probabilistic fatigue S-N curves of LZ50 axle steel, which include the long life regime ofmaterial, are adjusted by introducing a probabilistic fatigue affecting factor, Kaffect. Based on theadjusted curves, fatigue reliability research on the axle at different operating speeds is carried out. Itutilizes the fatigue stress spectrums of the axle in two different wheel set states, namely, normal stateand scratched state. The fatigue operating life with arbitrary survival probability and confidence isobtained, and the failure rate with given confidence and design fatigue life is also achieved. Analysisresults indicate that the unloading groove of existent RD2 axle is the most dangerous part. When thewheel set is in normal state, fatigue life of C64A freight car RD2 axle decreases with the increase ofreliability. Furthermore, scratched wheel set shortens the fatigue life strongly. Therefore, inspectionand administration of scratched wheel set are significant. The application of wheel set at relativelyhigh scratch level and high operating speed should be restricted
