Beschreibung: Increasing evidence indicates that metabolic disorders in offspring can result from the father's diet, but the mechanism remains unclear. In a paternal mouse model given a high-fat diet (HFD), we showed that a subset of sperm transfer RNA-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs), mainly from 5' transfer RNA halves and ranging in size from 30 to 34 nucleotides, exhibited changes in expression profiles and RNA modifications. Injection of sperm tsRNA fractions from HFD males into normal zygotes generated metabolic disorders in the F1 offspring and altered gene expression of metabolic pathways in early embryos and islets of F1 offspring, which was unrelated to DNA methylation at CpG-enriched regions. Hence, sperm tsRNAs represent a paternal epigenetic factor that may mediate intergenerational inheritance of diet-induced metabolic disorders.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Notes: 〈/span〉Chen, Qi -- Yan, Menghong -- Cao, Zhonghong -- Li, Xin -- Zhang, Yunfang -- Shi, Junchao -- Feng, Gui-hai -- Peng, Hongying -- Zhang, Xudong -- Zhang, Ying -- Qian, Jingjing -- Duan, Enkui -- Zhai, Qiwei -- Zhou, Qi -- New York, N.Y. -- Science. 2016 Jan 22;351(6271):397-400. doi: 10.1126/science.aad7977. Astafiev We demonstrate coherent dynamics of quantized magnetic fluxes in a superconducting loop with a weak link, a nanobridge patterned from the same thin NbN film as the loop. The bridge is a short, rounded shape constriction, close to 10 nm long and 20–30 nm wide, having minimal width at its center. It s… [Phys. Rev. B 94, 180508(R)] Published Mon Nov 21, 2016

Feng To understand the pairing symmetry and superconducting transition temperature in heavily electron-doped iron-based superconductors, it is important to study more of these materials, especially ones with decent stability in air and without phase separation. Here, angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy probes the surface electronic structure and superconducting gap in the new superconductor (Li 0 . 8 Fe 0 . 2 )OHFeSe, which shows a T c as high as 40 K. Feng Ba 0.95 Na 0.05 Ti 2 Sb 2 O is a titanium-based oxypnictide superconductor with possible density wave order. We have performed high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) studies on Ba 0.95 Na 0.05 Ti 2 Sb 2 O . Our STM studies find a charge density wave (CDW) or... [Phys. Rev. B 93, 024508] Published Mon Jan 11, 2016
