    Description: Energy service companies (ESCOs) play crucial role in building energy efficiency retrofit sector. However limited access to green financing has prevented ESCOs in their expansions in China. This paper, based on a survey of 469 samples and on-site visiting to and interviewing relevant 50 actors of ESCOs, financial institutions and local housing authorities, identifies main barriers of accessing to green financing at both systemic policy level and operational meso and micro level in China, and analyzes good practices at local level that overcome the barriers. The paper concludes that, although there are barriers existing at the policy level in China, substantial attentions and priorities should be given to take actions for overcoming the barriers existed at the operational meso and micro level. The paper suggests that the good practices of capacity building for ESCOs and local financial sector, intensifying participation of intermediate organizations or facilitators and diversifying financial sources and funding mechanisms and models that emerge from the local level should be disseminated in China.

    Notes: The corrosion behavior of BF slag to sialon bonded corundum refractories using reaction nitriding technology at 1500°C was investigated by crucible test method. The results show that the reaction products of slag corrosion are anorthite, magnalium-spinel and glass phases. The corundum grains can react with MgO in the slag to produce magnalium-spinel, accompanying by expansion andliquating stepwise by slag. Erosion mechanism is oxidation-erosion-dissolving. This study is very necessary and useful to improve the property of BF slag resistance and to yield better overall properties of sialon bonded corundum refractories

    Notes: A two-dimensional cellular automaton (CA) model is developed to simulate damage andfracture morphology evolution on the mesoscale in materials. The plastic convection of damage ismapped onto the CA lattice, and initiation, propagation and coalescence of damage are simulatedwith a local rule-based scheme of a probability cellular automaton. The model includes knownphysical distinctions of fracture behavior between microcracks and microvoids, and they arecharacterized by modifying the probability rule of the cellular automaton. The simulations providevisual insight to understand how those physical processes dynamically progress and they affect thedamage evolution in materials. The modeling can be used to link micromechanical models tocontinuum damage models

    Notes: Rod-like α-sialon was synthesized successfully using pure SiO2 and AlN as the startingmaterials, carbon black as reductant, CaF2 and Y2O3 as addition agent by carbothermalreduction-nitridation. The effects of reaction temperature (1450°C, 1500°C, 1600°C and 1700°C) andadditive (Li2CO3, CaF2, Y2O3 and Y2O3+CaF2) on phases and microstructure of the final products werestudied by XRD and SEM. The results showed that α-sialon was synthesized by carbothermalreduction-nitridation at 1700°C for 3 hours. The morphology of the synthesized α-sialon was rod-like

    Notes: Partially sintered zirconia ceramics (PSZCs) for dental uses were prepared from zirconia nanopowdervia isostatic pressing and partially sintering. The open porosities, pore diameters, grain sizes andmechanical properties of the ceramics with different densities were studied. The results show that thepores formed in the PSZCs are all open pores, with a diameter distribution of 60nm~130nm and a grainsize distribution of 120~170nm. The machinability becomes worse when the density of PSZC is higherthan 75% of the theoretical density, so a ceramic named PSZC-70% with density of 70%TD was selectedas the target material. Its bending strength is 168 MPa and fracture toughness is 1.8 MPa·m1/2. A dentalrestoration framework can be obtained via machining the PSZC-70% on a dental CAD/CAM system

    Notes: Wear-resistant ceramics were prepared successfully with Tangshan Ironstone-tailings. Theeffects of additives and sintering temperature on their mechanical property were studied. The erosivewear performance of ceramics was evaluated in liquid-solid flow. The erosive wear mechanism was alsoanalyzed. The results showed that the wear-resistant ceramic prepared at 1200ºC using 50wt% TangshanIronstone-tailings 10wt%, mild-clay and 40wt% high aluminum fly ash as the starting materials had highstrength and good erosive wear resistance.
