    Notes: Unter Variation der Reaktionsbedingungen wird an homologen racemischen α-Aminopropiophenon-Derivaten mit N-Phenylalkylresten vom Typ C6H5—(CH2)n  -  (n = 1 bis 4) der Einfluß des Phenylsubstituenten an den Alkylgruppen des Aminostickstoffs auf den sterischen Verlauf der Reduktion mit Natriumboranat, Lithiumalanat, Lithium-tri-tert.-butoxy-alanat, Aluminiumisopropylat und Chloraluminiumdiisopropylat untersucht.Aus den Ergebnissen geht hervor, daß Monophenylalkylaminopropiophenone unabhängig vom Raumbedarf der benutzten Kryptobasen zu erythro-Epimeren reduziert werden.Bei der Reduktion von phenylsubstituierten Dialkylamino-propiophenonen mit Kryptobasen geringen Volumens (z.B. LiAlH4) werden Gemische aus erythro- und threo-Epimeren erhalten, deren Verteilungsverhältnis von der Stellung des Phenylrestes abhängt. Voluminöse Kryptobasen (z.B. Aluminiumisopropylat) führen zu Reaktionsprodukten mit threo-Konfiguration.

    Description / Table of Contents: Thermal spraying. Thermal spraying in comparison with other coating techniques is characterized by a broad variability of base and spraying materials. After a brief description of actually used equipments some coating properties are summarized. Thermally sprayed special metal will become interesting in near future from commercial and technical point of view. With those metals homogeneous coatings can be produced without porosity.
    Notes: Das thermische Spritzen zeichnet sich gegenüber anderen Verfahren zur Oberflächenbeschichtung durch die Vielfältigkeit der verwendbaren Grund- und Spritzwerkstoffe aus. Neben einer Beschreibung gegenwärtig eingesetzter Geräte wird kurz auf den Schichtaufbau eingegangen. Wirtschaftlich und technisch von besonderem Interesse werden in naher Zukunft thermisch gespritzte Schichten aus Sondermetallen sein, die sich unter Schutzgas porenfrei und homogen erzeugen lassen.

    Notes: Fused silica columns of 4.6 μm i.d. were coated with 3-sulfopropylsilane as a cation exchanger and 3-(2-aminoethyl-amino)-propylsilane as an anion exchanger. Fast separations of cations (〈 25 seconds) and of anions (〈 35 seconds) were obtained, using a potentiometric microelectrode as a detector. In proceeding towards smaller i.d.s, a mixture of alkali metal cations could be separated successfully in an uncoated fused silica capillary of 2.3 μm i.d. as a result of retention by the surface silanol groups at pH 9.4.

    Notes: Carp semen obtained from isolated fish after hormonal stimulation was highly variable in terms of volume of semen, osmotic pressure of the seminal plasma, and sperm capacity to move. Moreover, this last parameter was unstable when the spermatozoa were kept within the seminal plasma, and the present work was designed to investigate and possibly correct this phenomenon. Sperm potential movement was the major parameter studied and was measured by the percentage of motile cells in a final 3,000-fold dilution in a medium of low osmotic pressure in which sperm movement is known to occur (Morisawa and Suzuki, Science 210:1145-1147, 1980). This was completed with occasional measurements of flagellar beat frequencies and demembranation-reactivation of axonemal movement. The results showed that sperm potential movement was preserved upon dilution of the semen into cold 200 mM KCl medium and that semen of initially “poor” quality or spermatozoa that had lost their capacity to move during storage in the semen recovered gradually their potential movement during incubation at 2°C in the same medium. The K+ dependence for both the conservation and the regeneration of sperm capacity to move showed a minimal requirement of 50 mM KCl in media of high osmotic pressure. Na+ ions had similar properties but not divalent cations. The K+ activation was not pH dependent between pH 9.03 and 6.04. Whatever the functional state of live spermatozoa, demembranation-reactivation occurred in ATP-Mg2+. It is concluded that, with dilution of the semen in appropriate conditions, carp spermatozoa retain or acquire potential movement and therefore are a lower vertebrate spermatozoa model available year-round. In addition, obtaining potentially nonmotile sperm and reversion in vitro might be useful to study the control of in vitro maturation.

    Notes: Anteior cruciate ligament (ACL) grafts made from expanded polytetrafluorethylene (ePTFE) were examined after failure (n = 7; 3 instabilities, 2 partial and 2 complete ruptures) to provide information about secondary fixation mechanisms via ingrowth of the different tissues. The ultrastructural evaluation clearly evidenced the existence of two main interface areas of ePTFE ACL-replacement: First, in areas without a dense cellular infiltrate there was interdigitating collagen producing a dense ePTFE-collagen network. Additionally, in a few areas of the graft/bone-tunnel interface a fibrous cartilage or bone regenerate could be demonstrated to be in contact with the prosthesis. Second, there was a dense infiltration of macrophages and multinuclear giant cells, partially containing birefringent material of implant origin, with and without a neosynovia-like reaction product, indicating a disturbance of tissue integration of the prosthesis. In areas of inflammation there was no bone development and only few collagen interdigitation with the graft material. This study provides further knowledge about mechanisms of secondary graft fixation due to tissue ingrowth. The interdigitation of collagen fibers and ePTFE filaments provides interfaces which should be at least partially resistant against load.

CsAgTlF6 (a = 10.89 Å) CsAgInF6, (a = 10.84 Å) and CsAgScF6, (a = 10.79 Å) are cubic examples of the RbNiCrF6-type of structure. The magnetic behaviour is complicated. The MADELUNG Part of Lattice Energy (MAPLE) is calculated and discussed.

Ebenso wie die orthorhombische stellt auch die monokline Modifikation einen weiteren Vertreter der aufgefüllten Tridymitstrukturen dar.
