    Notes: Elektrophile Additionen an Cyclooctadien-(1,5) können unter transannularer Beteiligung der zweiten Doppelbindung zu Bicylo [3,3,0] octanderivaten führen. Diese entstehen allerdings nur, wenn starke Protonsäuren, starke Lewis-Säuren oder Chlor als elektrophile Agenzien angewandt werden.Elektrophile Additionen in Methanol oder in Essigsäure als Lösungsmittel führen im ersten Reaktionsschritt vorzugsweise zu nicht umgelagerten Dreikomponentenprodukten; der elektrophile Angriff auf die zweite Doppelbindung erfolgt dann unter transannularer Beteiligung der OMe- oder OAc-Gruppe und führt zu Gemischen aus 9-Oxa-bicyclo[3,3,1]-nonan- und 9-Oxa-bicyclo[4,2,1]nonan-Derivaten.

    Description / Table of Contents: On the Boron Trifluoride Catalized Homologisation of Cycloalkanones with DiazomethaneForm cyclopentadecanone onward the formation of higher ketones in the homologisation reaction with diazomethane catalyzed by boron trifluoride is approximately statistical. It may be described by a Poisson distribution based on equal activities of all cycloalkanones involved. A statistical and a kinetic model make it possible to evaluate relative reactivities for cyclooctanone to cyclopentadecanone.
    Notes: Von Cyclopentadecanon an erfolgt die Bildung der höheren Ketone bei der Bortrifluorid-katalysierten Homologisierung mit Diazomethan nahezu statisch. Sie kann durch eine Poisson-Verteilung gut beschrieben werden, der die Voraussetzung gleicher Reaktivität aller beteiligten Cycloalkanone zugrunde liegt. Ein statistisches und ein kinetisches Modell erlauben es, eine relative Reaktivitätsskala von Cyclooctanon bis Cyclopentadecanon anzugeben.

Properties of AsH3 as complex ligand are discussed and compared with those of PH3 and As(C6H5)3. Cr(CO)5SbH3 and Fe(CO) 4AsH3, confirmed only by mass spectrometry, are mentioned.
    Notes: Über Darstellung, IR- und 1H-NMR- sowie Massenspektren der diamagnetischen, sublimierbaren, gelben Arsin-pentacarbonyl-Komplexe Cr(CO)5ASH3, Mo(CO)5AsH3 und W (CO)5ASH3 wird berichtet. Die Eigenschaften von AsH3 als Komplexligand werden diskutiert und mit denen von PH3 und As (C6H5)3 verglichen. Cyclopentadienylcycloheptatrienyl π-Complexes of Molybdenum(0) and Tungsten(0), their Monovalent Cations and a Cyclopentadienylbenzenetungsten(II) HydrideThe synthesis of the diamagnetic, sublimable five-ring seven-ring aromatic metal π-complexes of molybdenum C5H5Mo0C7H7 and tungsten C5H5W0C7H7 via the systems MoCl5/i-C3H7MgBr/C5H5MgBr/ether or WCl6/C2H5Li/C5H5Li/C7H8/ether is described. Both compounds react in benzene with a deficite of iodine to give the paramagnetic monoiodides [C5H5MIC7H7]+I-(M = Mo, W). A new procedure is given for the preparation of C5H5MoIC6H6. Finally experiments to prepare diamagnetic C5H5WIIHC6H6 via the system WCl6/i—C3H7MgBr/C5H5MgBr/1.3—C6H8/ether are reported.
    Notes: Die Synthese der diamagnetischen, sublimierbaren Fünfring-Siebenring-Aromaten-Metall-π-Komplexe des Molybdäns C5H5Mo0C7H7 und Wolframs C5H5W0C7H7 mittels der Systeme MoCl5/iso-C3H7MgBr/C5H5MgBr/C7H8/Äther bzw. WCl6/C2H5Li/C5H5Li/C7H8/Äther wird beschrieben. Beide Verbindungen reagieren in Benzol mit J2 im Unterschuß zu paramagnetischen Monojodiden [C5H5MIC7H7]+J-(M = Mo, W). Ein neues Verfahren zur Darstellung von C5H5MoIC6H6 wird angegeben. Abschließend wird über Versuche zur Darstellung von diamagnetischem C5H5WIIHC6H6 im System WCl6/iso-C3H7MgBr/C5H5MgBr/C6H8-(1.3)/ Äther berichtet.

    Description / Table of Contents: Transition Metall Chalkogen Compounds. Preparation, Properties and X-Ray Study of Tetrathioperrhenates. Vibrational and Electronic Spectra, Normal Coordinate Analysis of the ReS4--IonThe preparation and properties of tetrathioperrhenates MI ReS4 (MI = (C6H5)4As, (C6H5)4P, (CH3)4N) are described. The measured vibrational- and electronic spectra are discussed in terms of the bond properties. For the ReS4- ion a normal coordinate treatment is reported. From X-ray studies it could be derived that the tetraphenylarsonium salt (a = 13.14 Å, c = 7.11 Å) and the tetraphenylphosphonium salt (a = 12.94 Å, c = 7.20 Å) are crystallising tetragonal with Z = 2 probably in the space group S42-I 4.
    Notes: Darstellung und Eigenschaften von Tetrathioperrhenaten MIReS4 (MI = (C6H5)4As,(C6H5)4P, (CH3)4N) werden beschrieben. Die gemessenen Schwingungs- und Elektronen-spektren werden gedeutet und im Zusammenhang mit den Bindungsverhältnissen diskutiert. Für das ReS-4 -Ion wird eine Normalkoordinatenanalyse durchgeführt. Die röntgenographische Untersuchung ergab, daß das Tetraphenylarsoniumsalz (a = 13.14 Å, c = 7.11 Å) und das Tetraphenylphosphoniumsalz (a = 12.94 Å, c = 7.20 Å) tetragonal mit Z = 2 wahrscheinlich in der Raumgruppe S42-I 4 kristallisieren.

    Description / Table of Contents: Photocyclodimerisation of o-DistyrylbenzenePhotolysis of trans, trans-o-distyrylbenzene (1) leads in the first step, an intermolecular cycloaddition, to the formation of four cis-trans isomeric cyclobutane derivatives 2, 3, 4 and 5. The head-to-head dimers 2 and 3 are able to undergo another, now intramolecular cycloaddition forming the dimers 11, 12 and 14. The central eight-membered ring systems of these compounds could be assigned to a boat-, chair- or twist-configuration.
    Notes: trans. trans-o-Distyry1benzol (1) geht bei Bestrahlung mit UV-Licht eine intermolekulare Cycloaddition ein, wobei unter Bildung eines Cyclobutanrings zwei cis-trans-isomere Kopf-Kopf-Dimere 2 und 3 und zwei cis-trans-isomere Kopf-Schwanz-Dimere 4 und 5 entstehen. 2 und 3 sind zu einer weiteren, jetzt intramolekular ablaufenden Photocycloaddition befähigt. Durch einen zweiten Cyclobutanringschluß entstehen drei Dimere 11, 12 und 14, deren zentrale Achtringsysteme einer Wannen-, Sessel- bzw. Twistform zugeordnet werden.

    Description / Table of Contents: Mass Spectroscopic Investigations of Chromium π-ComplexesThe mass spectra of ring substituted π-cycloheptatriene chromium tricarbonyls and of the isomeric π-benzyl chromium tricarbonyls are reported and the fragmentation processes and their mechanisms are discussed. While free isomeric cycloheptatrienes and benzyl compounds produce very similar spectra, the fragmentation patterns of the corresponding complexes deviate markedly from one another; the benzyl-tropylium analogy does not exist. By mass spectroscopic means it is possible to distinguish between exo- and endo-substituted π-cyclo-heptatriene-Cr(CO)3 complexes.
    Notes: Die Massenspektren ringsubstituierter π-Cycloheptatrien-chromtricarbonyle und der isomeren π-Benzyl-chromtricarbonyle werden angegeben und die Fragmentierungsprozesse und ihre Mechanismen diskutiert. Während freie isomere Cycloheptatriene und Benzylverbindungen sehr ähnliche Spektren ergeben, weichen die Fragmentierungswege der entsprechenden Komplexe stark voneinander ab; es besteht keine Benzyl-Tropylium-Analogie. Aufmassen-spektroskopischem Wege ist es ferner möglich, zwischen exo- und endo-substituierten π-Cycloheptatrien-Cr(CO)3-Komplexen zu unterscheiden.
