    Notes: Summary One of the products of the chromic acid oxidation of the animal triterpene ambreine (V) has been identified with the lactone C16H26O2 (III) whichRuzicka and coll. had isolated by oxidation of the plant diterpene sclareol (II). This identification confirms recent findings of the authors and ofRuzicka, Dürst andJeger and shows that the hydroxyle of ambreine (V) is at the same place as the hydroxyle of sclareol which is attached to the perhydronaphtalene ring.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Goldschmidtverteilung scheint uns stark durch die Kinetik des Expansions-und Abkühlungsprozesses in derstellaren oder prästellaren Materie bedingt zu sein, wobei ein primär vorhandenes thermisches Gleichgewicht in manchen Zëgen der Verteilung noch “durchscheint”. Die thermodynamischen Bestimmungsgrößeu dieses Gleichgewischts sind in normalen Sternen nicht realisiert:T ≅ 1010 Grad Kelvin, Nukleonendichte zwischen 1030 und 1035 Teilchen pro cm3, und ein starkes Überwiegen der Neutronen über die Proteonen. Qualitativ werden die Verhältnisse durch das in Fig. 6 dargestellte Schema wiedergegeben.

    Notes: Summary From the bone-marrow and the blood of two children who were suffering from a chronic disease characterized by intermittent fever and swelling of the spleen and the liver, a virus pathogenic for mice after intraperitoneal inoculation has been isolated. It could be cultivated in the chick embryo after inoculation in the allantoic cavity. In infected mice a developmental cycle has been shown. According to its properties the virus might be one of the psittacosis-lymphogranuloma venereum group, though an antigenic relationship with the viruses of psittacosis and lymphogranuloma venereum could not be established.

Die R M Werte wurden nach Martins theoretischen Aufstellungen für die Verteilungs-Chromatographie bestimmt, ebenso die Gruppenkonstanten für entsprechende Substituenten.
    Notes: Abstract By thin-layer chromatography on rize starch mixtures of phenol, pyrocatechol, resoroinol, hydroquinone and pyrogallol as well as chloro- and nitroderivatives of phenol were separated. By Martin's theoretical postulates for partition chromatography the R M -values and group constants were calculated.
