Conclusions 1. The reaction of 3,3-dialkyl(cycloalkyl)cyclopropenes with unsaturated hydrocarbons in the presence of CuCl or (PhO)3P·CuCl leads to the cyclopropanation of the hydrocarbon double bond by vinylcarbenes which arise as a result of a cyclopropene-carbene isomerization. In addition to vinylcyclopropanes, the products of the recombination of the vinylcarbenes, namely, the corresponding trienes, are formed. 2. The cyclopropanation of cyclic dienes by vinylcarbenes obtained from cyclopropenes in the presence of CuCl or (PhO)3P·CuCl proceeds with higher yields than in the case of normal alkenes.
