Notes: The vibrational assignment of the hydroxonium ion, OH3+, is made with the help of Raman polarization measurements on solutions containing OH3+SbCl6- in CH2Cl2. The symmetric stretching frequency is found to be greater than the asymmetric mode. This order is the reverse of that observed in ammonia and other XH3 molecules.
