Description: Receptors for immunoglobulin G immune complexes (Fc gamma RII and Fc gamma RIII) are expressed on most hematopoietic cells and show much structural and functional diversity. In order to determine the genetic basis for this diversity, a family of genes encoding the human and mouse receptors was isolated and characterized. Humans have five distinct genes for low-affinity Fc gamma Rs, in contrast to two in the mouse. With the use of yeast artificial chromosomes, the genes encoding the human receptors were oriented and linked, which established the structure of this complex locus. Comparison of the human and mouse genes generated a model for the evolutionary amplification of this locus.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Notes: 〈/span〉Qiu, W Q -- de Bruin, D -- Brownstein, B H -- Pearse, R -- Ravetch, J V -- GM 36306/GM/NIGMS NIH HHS/ -- GM 39256/GM/NIGMS NIH HHS/ -- K23 AG022476/AG/NIA NIH HHS/ -- R01 AG031171/AG/NIA NIH HHS/ -- New York, N.Y. -- Science. 1990 May 11;248(4956):732-5.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Author address: 〈/span〉Division of Molecular Biology, Sloan-Kettering Institute, New York, NY 10021.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Record origin:〈/span〉 〈a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2139735" target="_blank"〉PubMed〈/a〉

Notes: [Auszug] RECENTLY we have observed the spectrum obtained by introducing nickel carbonyl vapour into the flame of a Meker burner. Just above the blue-green cones, in the hottest part of the flame, we find a very wide-spaced band structure which can only be attributed to a hydride. Examination of ...

Notes: [Auszug] CONTINUING our investigations of the spectra of the hydrides of the transition elements, we have now observed a band in the region 3600–3700 A. when running a high-tension arc between chromium electrodes in a flame of hydrogen burning in air. Fig. 1. The method of production of this band ...

Notes: [Auszug] IN the course of our investigation of the spectrum of discharges through streaming ammonia, it has been possible to record the λ 2530 band of NH, described by Hori1, with a Hilger E.l quartz spectrograph, using an improved type of hollow cathode. In addition, we have obtained ...

Notes: [Auszug] A NEW band has been observed in the spectrum of a hollow cathode discharge through streaming ammonia. The band is degraded to the red and is of simple structure, consisting of single P, Q and R branches. Heads are formed at λ4502 and λ4523 by the R and Q branches respectively. Preliminary ...

Notes: [Auszug] A BAND spectrum of the many-line type has been obtained from a discharge through a mixture of rubidium vapour and hydrogen. The discharge tube with a constriction in the positive column which was originally designed for the production of the manganese hydride spectrum1 was found ...

Notes: [Auszug] RECENTLY Mesnage1 has reported a system of bands, degraded to the red, in the region 2600–2650 A. He obtained the bands by an electrodeless high-frequency discharge through a heated quartz tube containing chromium chloride. We have noticed that the wave-lengths recorded agree ...

Notes: [Auszug] FOLLOWING on previous work in which we observed the spectrum of nickel hydride1, NiH, in a high-tension arc between nickel electrodes in a flame of hydrogen burning in air, we have made similar experiments with other metals. With manganese, four bands with open rotational ...

Notes: [Auszug] IT is well known that the sensitivity of an ordinary photographic emulsion begins to fall rapidly just below λ 2500 A., and is very low at λ 2100 A. This fall is due to the absorption of short-wave radiation by the gelatin of the emulsion. It is commonly stated1 that higher ...
