    Description / Table of Contents: Investigation of electrocapillary curvesElectrocapillary curves for a system Hg-1N aqueous solution of H2SO4 with small amounts of sulphoxides, amines, thiourea and diphenylthiourea have been investigated. The electrocapillary results which well agree with inhibition efficacy of such compounds indicate that neutral molecules are responsible in inhibition processes.
    Notes: Aufgenommen wurden Elektrokapillarkurven für das System Hg/1 n-H2SO4 mit Zusatz von verschiedenen Sulfoxyden, Aminen, Thioharnstoff und Diphenylthioharnstoff. Zwischen den hierbei erhaltenen Resultaten und denen bezüglich der Sparbeizwirkung von neutralen Molekülen bei diesem Adsorptionsprozeß wurde eine gute Übereinstimmung gefunden.

    Description / Table of Contents: The influence of certain sulphoxides on the hydrogen over-potential at the mercury (HG) electrodeAn investigation has ben carried out on the variation of polarisation curves in the mercury  -  1 n-H2SO4 system with the addition of different sulphoxides in the range of potentials from - 0.4 to - 1.2 V. In the range of potentials corresponding to the adsorption of neutral molecules, the results were found to agree with the inhibiting effect of the inhibitors named.
    Notes: Es wurde der Verlauf von Polarisations-kurven in dem System Quecksilber / 1 n-H2SO4 mit Zusatz verschiedener Sulfoxyde im Potentialbereich von - 0,4 bis - 1,2 V geprüft. Übereinstimmung der erhaltenen Ergebnisse in dem Potential-bereich, das der Adsorption von neutralen Molekülen entspricht, mit dem Sparbeiz-effekt der genannten Inhibitoren wurde festgestellt.

    Description / Table of Contents: The influence of amines as well as thiourea and diphenylthiourea on the hydrogen over-potential at the mercury electrodeAn investigation has been carried out on the variation of polarisation curves in the mercury -1 n-H2SO4 system with the addition of amines as well as thiourea or diphenylthiourea in the current density range from 10-6 to 10-2 amps/cm2. In this range, it was only for thiourea and diphenylthiourea that agreement could be found between the results of the investigation and the inhibiting effect of the inhibitors named.
    Notes: Es wurde der Verlauf von Polarisationskurven in dem System Quecksilber / 1 n-H2SO4 mit Zusatz von Aminen bzw. Thioharnstoff oder Diphenylthioharnstoff im Stromdichtenbereich von 10-6 bis 10-2 A/cm2 untersucht. In diesem Stromdichtenbereich war nur für Thioharnstoff eine Übereinstimmung der erhaltenen Versuchsergebnisse mit dem Sparbeizeffekt der erwähnten Inhibitoren festzustellen.
