Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
The decomposition of polyethylene and polypropylene on amorphous silica-alumina cracking catalyst has been studied. The structure of the catalytic decomposition products was investigated by spectroscopic methods. A reaction mechanism considering particularly the secondary reactions occurring frequently on catalyst is proposed. The advantages of catalytic decomposition in polymer wastes recovery were demonstrated.
