Solutions of 1.4-cis-polybutadiene can be treated with small amounts of disulphur dichloride in such a way that no formation of macrogels occurs. The Mooney viscosity, the Defo plasticity and the Defo elasticity are reproducibly increased. The cold flow is reduced. The Mooney viscosity can be increased in the presence of extender oils in the solution. The physical data of the vulcanized rubbers are in part slightly improved. The molecular heterogeneity of the samples increases since the microgel content rises. A modified determination of macrogels is described.The increase in the mean molecular weight can be transferred to other polymers with olefinic double bonds.

Die Behandlung von 1,4-cis-Polybutadienlösung mit geringen Mengen Dischwefeldichlorid kann so gestaltet werden, daß keine Makrogelbildung eintritt. Die MOONEY-Viskosität, die Defohärte und die Defoelastizität werden reproduzierbar erhöht. Der kalte Fluß wird erniedrigt. Die Erhöhung der MOONEY-Viskosität läßt sich in Gegenwart von Streckölen vornehmen. Die physikalischen Werte der Vulkanisate werden teilweise geringfügig verbessert. Der Mikrogelanteil steigt mit zunehmender Menge Dischwefeldichlorid stark an. Das Zahlenmittel des Molekulargewichts der gesamten Substanz und das Gewichtsmittel des Molekulargewichts des mikrogelfreien Anteils bleiben praktisch konstant. Die Uneinheitlichkeit der Proben wird erhöht. Es wird eine modifizierte Methode zur Bestimmung von Makrogelen beschrieben.
