Description: In September 1984 and in August and September 1985 the supposed hybrid between Potamogeton acutifolius Link and P. berchtoldii Fieber (P. X sudermanicus Hagstr\xc3\xb6m) was found in a ditch near Meppel in the Dutch province of Overijssel. This hybrid was not yet known from the Netherlands.

Description: In 1975, a sterile Carex-hybrid was collected in the vicinity of Heerenveen (prov. of Friesland). At first sight it resembled Carex X beckmanniana Figert ( C. riparia Curt. X C. rostrata Stokes). Further study, however, reveiled that the hybrid shows affinity to C. acutiformis Ehrh. instead of C riparia, and is intermediate between the supposed parents C. acutiformis and C. rostrata, as shown in the table and the figures. This hybrid has not been found in the Netherlands before nor, as far as we know, elsewhere in Europe. The name Carex X bakkerana is proposed in honour of the late Prof. Dr. D. Bakker.

Description: Round about 1930 it was presumed that the imminent closure of the \xe2\x80\x98Zuiderzee\xe2\x80\x99 with the resultant change from salt to fresh water might well affect the boundaries of Caltha palustris in the coastal area of the province Friesland. It was thought that inside the dikes Caltha would invade the regions that had previously been too saline for its growth. As many localities as possible were carefully mapped. Now, forty years after the first investigation was carried out the boundary of the area covered by Caltha appears practically unchanged. Very different, on the other hand, is the situation outside the dikes where many new localities have been found on the newly claimed land.

Description: The sterile hybrid Carex pseudocyperus L. X C. rostrata Stokes, new for the Netherlands, was discovered along a ditch near Gorredijk-Kortezwaag in the province of Friesland, in a large population of C. pseudocyperus. C. rostrata was found in the neighbourhood. The hybrid differs from C. pseudocyperus in, among other things, the glaucous leaves and the only slightly pendulous spikes. Compared with C. rostrata the hybrid has much flatter and wider leaves and the utricules gradually taper into the beak (fig. 2, a). The distinctly awned female glumes show the influence of C. pseudocyperus fig- 2,b).

Description: Tragopogon porrifolius L. X T. pratensis L. ook in bloeitijd intermediair.

Description: Two wild records of Senecio x pseudovernalis Zabel are mentioned from the Netherlands, one from 1950 in the province of Zeeland (leg. A. de Visser) and one from 1984 in the province of Friesland. In 1941 the hybrid was also found in Wijchen, in the garden of a local botanist.

Description: Up to now hybrids of Tragopogon porrifolius L. and the subspecies pratensis and orientalis of T. pratensis L. were only known in the Netherlands from botanical gardens where they came up spontaneously between the parents. The author mentions the first wild occurrence in our country of the hybrid of T. porrifolius and T. pratensis subsp. pratensis along a dike near Wommels, prov. Friesland, where it was discovered by one of his pupils, Mr. Posthuma. Moreover a survey of the distribution of T. porrifolius in Friesland is given.
