    Description: One new genus of the tribe Rogadini Foerster, 1862 (Braconidae: Rogadinae) from Vietnam: Vietorogas Long & van Achterberg, gen. nov. (type species: Vietorogas bachma spec. nov.) is described. In addition, seven new species are described and illustrated: Vietorogas abditivus Long & van Achterberg, spec. nov.; V. bachma Long, spec. nov.; Cornutorogas aurantius van Achterberg, spec. nov., C. hatinhensis Long & van Achterberg, spec. nov.; C. hoabinhicus Long & van Achterberg, spec. nov.; C. similis Long, spec. nov. and Megarhogas albapiculatus Long, spec. nov.

    First record of Braconidae as parasitoids of Capnodis tenebrionis (Linnaeus) (Coleoptera: Buprestidae), with notes on the ecology of Spathius erythrocephalus Wesmael (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) (2008)

    Description: For the first time an ichneumonoid parasitoid is reported from the peach flatheaded rootborer Capnodis tenebrionis (Linnaeus, 1758) (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) in a heavily infested plum and apricot orchard in south-western Sicily. In 2005 and 2006 the ecology of the ectoparasitoid Spathius erythrocephalus Wesmael, 1838, (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) was studied. The larvae are ectophagous and gregarious; obviously the parasitoid search for the large buprestid larval (6.0 \xc2\xb1 0.4 cm). The adult parasitoid appeared in both cultivations in August and/or September and selected only the mature larvae for oviposition. In 2006 35% of the rootborer larvae on plum were parasitized. Significant diff erences were found between the mean depth in the soil in which parasitized and non-parasitized larvae were found, although C. tenebrionis larvae closest to the level of the soil surface are the easier to reach. The parasitoid is able to search for and parasitize host larvae up to a soil depth of 20 cm. No significant diff erence was found in the distribution of the parasitoid with respect to the compass orientation within the tree. Spathius erythrocephalus is a new promising antagonist for the biological control of the noxious peach flatheaded rootborer.

    Description: Five new species of the genus Spinaria Brullé (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Rogadinae) from Vietnam are described and illustrated: Spinaria bachmana spec. nov., S. fulvicornis spec. nov., S. similis spec. nov., S. truongsonensis spec. nov. and S. vietnamica spec. nov. Two species are newly recorded for Vietnam: S. albiventris Cameron and S. spinator (Guérin-Méneville). A key to the species of the genus Spinaria from Vietnam is included.

(type species: Opius (Agnopius) daghoides Zaykov & Fischer, 1983) from West and East Palaearctic regions and Pseudosteres gen. nov. (type species: Biosteres adanaensis Fischer & Beyarslan, 2005) from West Palaearctic region. Two new species are described and illustrated: Cephaloplites gijswijti sp. nov. from Greece and Cavopius depressorius sp. nov. from S. Korea.     Description: The braconid genus Dyscritulus Hincks is a small member of the subfamily Aphidiinae, distributed in Europe and Central Asia. All its species are highly specialized parasitoids of aphids of the genera Drepanosiphum Koch and, probably, Periphyllus van der Hoeven which are mostly associated with maple and sycamore trees (genus Acer). Upon examination of specimens from the Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden, we unexpectedly noted unusual variability in morphological characters compared to other known Dyscritulus species. Further inspection of other material previously identified as Dyscritulus planiceps Marshall, 1896 revealed additional specimens with the same morphological variability. Here we describe a new species of the genus, Dyscritulus europaeus sp. nov., associated with Drepanosiphum aphids on Acer.

    Description: Twenty-one species of the family Braconidae (Hymenoptera) are added to the checklist of Braconidae from Madeira, resulting in 113 species, of which 17 species are endemic to Madeira Islands and 4 species are only known from Madeira and Canary Islands. Five species are reported new for the Selvagens Islands. Five new species are described and illustrated: Homolobus (Apatia) madeirensis spec. nov. (Homolobinae), Dinotrema glabriscutum spec. nov., D. brunneicornis spec. nov. and Orthostigma minusculum spec. nov. (Alysiinae: Alysiini) and Phaedrotoma flaveola spec. nov. (Opiinae: Opiini). Meteorus pendulus (M\xc3\xbcller, 1776) is considered to be a Holarctic species, with as junior synonyms the Nearctic Perilitus communis Cression, 1872 (syn. nov.) and the Palaearctic Ichneumon gyrator Thunberg, 1822.
