Notes: Summary Dermatoglyphic research was performed in a family with seven children, two of whom were suffering from Wilson's disease (hepatolenticular degeneration). The finger prints of both patients showed a much higher frequency of whorls (9 and 10) than those of their five siblings and of their parents. The investigation of palmar dermatoglyphics revealed a very frequent ending of line D in area 7, but examination of only one family does not permit any definite conclusion of a specific relationship of this feature to the Wilson's disease gene.
