Conclusions 1. Fiberglass is a promising material for the bodies of medical pressure chambers for clinical use. 2. The limiting state of a two-layer chamber is not dependent on the relation between the principal stresses, unlike a multilayer shell of orthotropic fiberglass produced by separate longitudinal-transverse winding, whose limiting state in biaxial tension-tension stress is described by an arc of an ellipse in shell constructions. Consequently, a shell with a two-layer texture has a more rational design. 3. Allowance should be made for the edge effect in calculating the permissible stress from the short-term strength in order to determine the necessary thickness of the longitudinally placed layer with bracing rings of radius of curvature 5 mm.
