Notes:
Summary 1. Tensile and torsion tests were carried out on specimens of 12, 21, 31, 37, and 43% porosity, made from reduced iron powder. Values of the ultimate strength, yield point, and ductility characteristics of the materials investigated were obtained. 2. The torsion diagrams of porous iron were plotted. 3. It was found that the straight radii hypothesis applies also in the case of torsion of cylindrical specimens from porous iron. 4. The specific work of rupture of porous iron in torsion is much greater than that in tension.
