Summary The most interesting antagonists of decamethonium iodide known up to now are pentamethonium iodide and tubocurarine. In fact several other compounds principally Paludrine, bis-(2 heptyl)amine and a substituted butylamine are effective inhibitors of the depolarising quaternary ammonium salt in the cat. Stilbamidine, Pentamidine, compound 48–80 and Tween 20 have the same property but are less active. All these compounds have the common property to be histamine liberators.
