Investigations on preparation of vinylalcohol-buten (1)-copolymers prove that products with a buten (1) content about 10 mole % may have good dispersion properties. The samples exhibit high aging stability in aqueous solution. With increasing vinylacetate content in the monomer feed yield and molecular weights of copolymerizations also increase. A variation of the initiator concentration does not affect the copolymer composition. Decreasing molecular weights lead to disproving dispersion properties.

Untersuchungen zur Darstellung von Vinylalkohol-But-1-en-Copolymeren Zeigen, daß bei Produkten mit einem But-1-en-Gehalt von etwa 10 Mol-% und Molmassen um 20 000 sehr gute Dispergiereigenschaften erzielt werden können. Die Proben weisen in wäßriger Lösung eine hole Alterungsstabilität auf. Mit zunehmenden Vinylacetatanteil in der Monomermischung verläuft die Copolymerisation zu höheren Ausbeuten und Molmassen. Eine Variation der Initiatorkonzentration hat keinen Einfluß auf die Copolymerzusammensetzung. Mit fallenden Molmassen verschlechtern sich die Dispergiereigenschaften.
