Notes: Local boundary integral equation (boundary element) methods make it possible to determine the variables of interest in a small pre-selected region of a solution domain, without the need to determine the unknowns over the rest of the boundary. A method of this type based on Fourier series is developed for two-dimensional potential problems governed by Laplace's equation. Very accurate values of the function and its derivatives can be obtained.
