Preparation and Properties of 1-Norbornyl Copper1-Norbornyl copper was synthesized from copper(II) acetylacetonate and 1-norbornyl lithium. The compound shows an unexpected stability and decomposes only at ca. 80°C with precipitation of copper and formation of norbornyl radicals which were proved by spin-trap experiments. A further characterization was performed by the IR and 13C-NMR spectra.

1-Norbornylkupfer1-Norbornyl (1-Nor) = Bicyclo-(2.2.1)-heptyl wurde aus Kupfer(II)-acetylacetonat und 1-Norbornyllithium dargestellt. Die Verbindung ist unerwartet stabil und zersetzt sich erst bei etwa 80°C unter Abscheidung von Kupfer und Bildung von Norbornylradikalen, die durch Spintrapping-Experimente nachgewiesen wurden. Eine nähere Charakterisierung erfolgte mittels des IR- und 13C-NMR-Spektrums.
