The Partial Substitution of Ge by GaAs and GaSb in the Clathrate Compounds Ge38As8I8 and Ge38Sb8I8In the clathrate compounds Ge38As8I8 and Ge38Sb8I8 germanium can be substituted partially by GaAs and GaSb, respectively. The substitution by GaAs was proved qualitative. GaSb forms independent from the stoichiometry of the reactants a clathrate compound Ge14Ga12Sb20I8 Ge14(GaSb)12Sb8I8 which crystallises in the space group P43n with a = 11.273 Å. The distribution of all atoms on the positions of the clathrate structure has been determined by single crystal work. The results are discussed.

In den Käfigverbindungen Ge38As8J8 und Ge38Sb8J8 kann ein Teil des Germaniums durch GaAs bzw. GaSb substituiert werden. Die Substitution mit GaAs konnte qualitativ gesichert werden. Mit GaSb bildet sich unabhängig vom stöchiometrischen Ansatz eine Käfigverbindung der Zusammensetzung Ge14Ga12Sb20J8 Ge14(GaSb)12Sb8J8, die in der Raumgruppe P43n mit a = 11,273 Å kristallisiert. Die Verteilung der Atome auf die Positionen der Clathratstruktur wurde an Einkristallen bestimmt. Die Ergebnisse werden diskutiert.
