    Description / Table of Contents: The Relative Strength of the Tin-Carbon Bond in n-Butyltin Halides.The strength of the tin-carbon bond in n-butyltin halides of the series n-u4-mSnHlgm (m = 1, 2, 3; Hlg = F, Cl, Br, I) depends on the sort and the number of halogen atoms. With increasing number of Hlg the Sn—C bond is strengthened. This fact is revealed by i.r. and mass spectrometry. The influence of fluorine is more obvious than with iodine because of their large difference in electronegativities.
    Notes: Die Stärke der Sn—C-Bindung in n-Butylzinnhalogeniden n-Bu4-mSnHlgm mit Hlg = F, Cl, Br, J und m = 1, 2, 3 ist abhängig von Anzahl und Art der Halogenatome. Bei Einführung von Halogenen wird die Sn—C-Bindung gefestigt, was aus IR- und Massenspektren hervorgeht. Der Einfluß ist bei den Fluorverbindungen größer als bei den analogen Jodverbindungen. Der Unterschied in den Elektronegativitäten ist eine mögliche Erklärung hierfür.
