The compounds [MoCl4dip](dip · H) and [MoCl4phen] (phen · H) have been prepared by reaction of K3[MoCl6] or (NH4)2 [MoCl5(H2O)] with the diamines dip = α,α′-dipyridyl and phen = o-phenanthroline in aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid or in a mixture of H2O/C2H5OH/HCl. Reflectance spectra and magnetic moments in the range of +50 to -195°C have been measured. It was not possible to obtain the tris-compounds [Mo(diamine)3]Cl3 described by Steele.

Die Verbindungen [MoCl4dip] (dip · H) und [MoCl4phen] (phen · H) wurden durch Umsetzung von K3[MoCl6] sowie (NH4)2 [MoCl5(H2O)] mit den Diaminen dip = α,α′-Dipyridyl und phen = o-Phenanthrolin in wäßriger salzsaurer Lösung bzw. in einem Gemisch aus Äthanol und wäßriger Salzsäure erhalten. Reflexionsspektren sowie die Resultate magnetischer Messungen im Temperaturbereich von +50 bis -195°C werden mitgeteilt. Die von Steele beschriebenen Tris-Verbindungen vom Typ [Mo(Diamin)3]Cl3 konnten nicht erhalten werden.
