    Notes: Aus wäßrigen Zinksalzlösungen fällt bis zu einem PH ≤ 7 die Verbindung Zn3(PO4)2 · 4 H2O, die der rhombischen Form des Minerals Hopeit entspricht. Aus ihr bildet sich zwischen 50 und 100° das Dihydrat, oberhalb 150° das Anhydrid. Bei PH 〉 7 entstehen Mischungen von Zn3(PO4)2 · 4 H2O NaZnPO4 · H2O und wasserhaltigem ZnO. Die Synthese des Tarbutits, Zn2OHPO4 gelingt durch Behandeln von Gemischen aus Zn3(PO4)2 und ZnO in Gegenwart von Wasser bei 190° und 12 Atü im Autoklaven. Das Zn2OHPO4 verliert erst oberhalb 450° das Konstitutionswasser und ist daher als basisches Salz aufzufassen.
