Beschreibung:
The mixing theory of Polder and Van Santen is revised for application to three cases of wet snow. The dielectric constant is calculated for a range of liquid contents and porosities. These calculated values compare favorably with experimental data for the two cases in which data available. The application to a snow cover with a heterogeneous distribution of liquid is discussed. The possibility of applying this theory the calculate the imaginary part of the dielectric constant must be explored further.
