This concept is incompatible with the smoke-tight as stated in the life safety standard. The method used was a field study of evacuation experiment with 33 occupants and compare them with the results of the computer simulation model that compare the ASET(the available safe egress time) and RSET(the required safe egress time). The finding showed that to fulfill of life safety, the building needs additional appropriate fire protection systems.
