Description:
On 24 August 2013 a sudden burst of gas erupted from the ground near Rome's airport, about 15 kilometers southwest of the city. The eruption produced a crater that was initially about half a meter wide but that gradually increased in size and eventually reached a diameter of about 3 meters.
