Description: The photometric textures of Europa geologic units possessing the same small mean photometric slope angle as found by Dominique et al. (1991) are presently examined on the basis of Hapke's (1981) photometric model. With only one exception, the particles composing the surfaces of most of the units exhibit similar scattering properties. Attention is given to the single-particle scattering functions of the two bright plains regions examined; these are noted to be no less different from each other than both are from the other units. An aging process that affects the albedos and single-particle phase functions is hypothesized for Europa.
