Description:
An overview is presented of the continuing evolution and enhancement of the principal factors involved in maintaining the highest standards of safety in the U.S. space program. Attention is given to the complexity and the myriad details of assuring maximum safety for each individual component before any unit is joined to the whole. Consideration is given to safety experiments carried out at the School of Aerospace Medicine that focus on fire hazards.
