The Solar Alpha Rotary Joint (SARJ) helps to align the power generation system, onboard the Space Station Freedom, with the sun. The SARJ is responsible for providing structural continuity and controlled rotation to the outboard transverse booms. The SARJ also provides continuous power, data, and video transfer across the joint.
