    Description: NASA's Advanced Communications Technology Satellite which will flight test the advanced technologies associated with a Ka-band multibeam antenna, onboard signal processing and switching, and laser communications is described. The ACTS Experiment Program includes flight system technology experiments, ground system technology experiments, network control, propagation experiments, and end-to-end system experiments. Operational communications modes employing the baseband processor and microwave switch matrix are presented as well as the antenna coverage pattern.
