Description: Attention is given to the computation of viscous subsonic and transonic flow over two-dimensional airfoils at high Reynolds numbers, where the boundary layers are thin and turbulent over most of the airfoil and its wake. An attempt is made to develop a fast viscid/inviscid interaction method for the computation of viscous flows over airfoils with extensive low separation regions, which can be used as the basis of predictions of the stalling characteristics of airfoils with reasonable accuracy. These insights are applied in the form of changes to the GRUMFOIL computer code, in order to improve separated flow prediction capabilities.
