Notes:
The Carrizo sand aquifer of Eocene age furnishes water to wells in a belt extending from the Rio Grande in South Texas northeastward to Louisiana, a distance of 500 miles. It is one of the most important water-bearing formations in Texas, and has a large potential for additional development of ground water.
