Notes:
In order to eliminate extraneous alternating fields in magnetic field measuring setups using SQUID magnetometers, a compensating network has been developed which exhibits low-pass filter characteristics. Guidelines will be given for the optimal parameters of such circuits. On the basis of a network realized with a corner frequency of 1 Hz and with a stop-band attenuation of about 20 dB the reason why the theoretically total compensation is not achievable in practice is attributed to mismatched components and to eddy currents in the Dewar walls.
