Abstract A perturbational version of an Omega HMO (π+σ) method is developed and used for the quantum chemical calculation of charge distributions in σ and π electron systems. The method, suitable also for the treatment of large molecules, permits the quantitative description of inductive effects. The calculated net charges are correlated with experimental data.

Zusammenfassung Zur quantenchemischen Berechnung der Ladungsverteilung in σ- und π-Elektronensystemen wird eine Omega-HMO-(π+σ)-Methode in störungstheoretischer Form entwickelt. Die Methode, welche auch für die Behandlung großer Moleküle geeignet ist, gestattet die quantitative Beschreibung induktiver Effekte. Die berechneten Nettoladungen werden mit experimentellen Daten korreliert.
