Summary A simple and quick method for lactic acid determination in blood is described. It is based on simultaneous removal of protein and sugar by means of thorium hydroxide. By means of the method ofMendel-Goldscheider, lactic acid is converted to acetaldehyde which is determined colorimetrically with the help of veratrol. The value of the unknown can be read off the standard curve immediately.

Résumé Les auteurs décrivent und méthode à la fois simple et prompte pour le dosage de l'acide lactique dans le sang. Ils éliminent en même temps l'albumine et le sucre en ajoutant de l'oxyhydrate de thorium. L'acide lactique est transformé en aldéhyde acétique selonMendel-Goldscheider et l'aldéhyde acétique est dosé colorimétriquement avec le vératrol. La courbe-étalon permet de lire immédiatement la valeur cherchée.

Zusammenfassung Es wird eine einfache und rasche Methode zur Bestimmung der Milchsäure im Blute beschrieben, die auf gleichzeitige Entfernung des Eiweißes und des Zuckers mittels Thoriumhydrat aufgebaut ist. Die Milchsäure wird nachMendel-Goldscheider in Acetaldehyd übergeführt und dieses mittels Veratrol kolorimetrisch bestimmt. Die Ablesung an der Eichkurve ergibt unmittelbar den gesuchten Wert.
