Summary Polysilanes containing cyclodisilazane units in the backbone were synthesized by the modified Wurtz-type coupling of available dichlorosilanes with N,N′-bis (chlorodimethylsilyl)tetramethylcyclodisilazane in the mixture of solvents. The effect of solvent additives on the polymerization process was examined. These polymers are soluble in common solvents and very easily handled by molding or casting.
