Zusammenfassung Der Anwendungsbereich der spektralphotometrischen Thoriumbestimmung mit Arsenazo III konnte durch folgende Maßnahmen wesentlich erweitert werden: Vorextraktion aus 1–2,5 N schwefelsäurehaltiger Lösung mit N-Butylanilin in Chloroform und Rückextraktion in die wäßrige Phase unter Einsatz von Komplexierungsmitteln. Über 60 untersuchte Kationen und etwa 20 Anionen stören die Bestimmung in weiten Grenzen nicht. Die Bestimmung ist einfach und schnell. Die relative Standardabweichung ist für 20 μg Th besser als 1%.

Abstract The applicability of the spectrophotometric determination of thorium with Arsenazo III has been significantly extended by the following measures: preextraction from solution containing 1–2.5 N sulphuric acid by N-butylaniline in chloroform and reextraction into the aqueous phase employing complexing agents. Over 60 cations and 20 anions have been investigated, none of which disturb the determination over a wide range of concentrations. The determination is simple and rapid. For 20 μg of thorium, the standard deviation is better than 1%.
