Contents To calculate the terminal voltage of a lead-acid battery, which depends on the degree of discharge and on the current, there are considered: (1) the ohmic resistance, (2) the activation overvoltage, which gives a current voltage characteristic similar to that of a diode, and (3) the concentration overvoltage, which is determined by the diffusion of the electrolyte. The diffusion can be electrically modelled by pieces of Thomson cables. The equivalent circuit and the treatment of the problem are considerably simplified by regarding (a) the stationary state to which (b) the effect due to a superposed alternating component (f.e. load cycles) can be added. The data needed for the calculation can be determined by measurements. The conformity of the calculated and the measured behaviour is good.

Übersicht Zur Berechnung der Klemmenspannung eines Bleiakkumulators in Abhängigkeit vom Strom und vom Entladegrad werden berücksichtigt: der ohmsche Widerstand, die Durchtrittspolarisation, die der stationären Strom-Spannungs-Kennlinie eine diodenähnliche Charakteristik verleiht, und die Konzentrationspolarisation, die von der Diffusion des Elektrolyten bestimmt wird. Die Diffusion kann durch elektrische RC-Leitungsstücke nachgebildet und veranschaulicht werden. Die Behandlung des Problems und die Ersatzschaltung vereinfachen sich dadurch wesentlich, daß einerseits der stationäre Zustand betrachtet wird, dem sich andererseits die Wirkung eines Wechselanteils im Strom bei periodischen Belastungsspielen überlagern läßt. Die für die Rechnung benötigten Kennwerte können aus Messungen bestimmt werden und sind für einige Batterietypen angegeben. Die Übereinstimmung des gerechneten mit dem gemessenen Verhalten ist gut.
